How the Hawaiian lomi lomi nui massage feels just like taking an energy-renewing shower.

Aloha!

When you get dirty and don’t feel fresh or have body odor, you take a shower. Immediately after the shower you feel amazing, but you don’t take shower once in your life, right? Neither do you expect the effects of shower to last forever. You get dirty and smelly again, and it doesn’t surprise you that you have to take a shower again… And again, and again – Most likely every day.

Showering makes sense because you understand that it is part of your daily hygiene routine, and it is something not meant to last forever. Massages are like a shower. It makes you feel fresh, renewed, energized, ready to go, (like a cold shower) or deeply relaxed (like a long hot shower)… but it will not last forever, like a shower.

Some people think they will come for a massage once and they will feel good forever. They seem to be surprised and somehow disappointed when a week or two, or a month after the massage their body feels like getting massage AGAIN. Massages are like a shower for your muscles, joints, and bones: It washes away your stresses, difficult emotions and worries. It leaves you clean and fresh. But tensions are like dirt, it is a normal part of life to get dirty every now and then. It is normal that we accumulate tensions; physical, emotional and mental, over time. Some people have accumulated a lot, others a little. Some people deal with their tensions on an everyday basis through sport, yoga meditation, dance, art, contact with nature or massages. Others do nothing until their bodies send very clear signals: headaches, back pain, insomnia, anxiety, digestion problems and so on (BTW, which group are you in? First or second type).

Hawaiian lomi lomi nui is a VERY special massage, very deeply healing massage, very long-lasting and transforming massage but it is, A MASSAGE. Its effects, especially physical effects, most likely will not last forever and it is perfectly normal. Think of a massage like a part of your hygiene routine; Something you do regularly, like taking a shower, brushing your teeth, changing your bedsheets, or checking your health.

One massage session every 4-5 months feels nice. One session of massage every month is potentially life-changing and provides long-lasting effects. I encourage you, both as a massage therapist and simply a person who loves getting massages, to find time in your schedule and money in your budget for regular massage sessions. Once a week, once a month, once every 2 months – but do it regularly if you are looking for deep, long-lasting results. Find a massage therapist that you feel good with, a type of massage that you like and treat yourself regularly.

If you are my client, please remember that regular clients (coming once a month) pay less, and if you want to come more often (two times a month or more), then I will prepare a special discount offer for you.

Now I’ll jump under the blanket with a cup of hot ginger tea and the book “Hawaii” by James Mitchener (over 1000 pages! ); And you, how are you spending this afternoon? Who is getting a massage, hands up!

Aloha,
